This transcript, which features Sir John Holmes, the Director of the Ditchley Foundation, focuses on the relationship between Britain and the EU following the Brexit vote. Holmes specifically argues that given its newfound status, the British government and other key actors must 1) fight to ensure that the country remains open, tolerant and fundamentally internationalist in its foreign, trade and security policies; and 2) however paradoxical it might seem, work to make sure that the London renews its efforts to bring itself as close to its European partners as possible.
