This paper analyzes representational consequences of electoral mechanisms by providing a detailed analysis of ethnic representation in Romania. The authors explain that this case is of particular interest to research on ethnic minority representation as Romania's electoral rules establish a number of distinct institutional channels for gaining legislative representation in the lower chamber of national parliament.
