This brief discusses relations between Tibet, India and China in light of the 50th anniversary year of the Tibetan uprising and the Dalai Lama's political asylum in India. It examines how India responded to the 2007 violent uprising in Tibet and how China pressured India to crack down on Tibetan activists. The author concludes that the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan uprising could become a flashpoint for further instability in Tibet.
