This bulletin examines the recasting of Frontex, the EU’s border authority, into the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (EBCGA). While the transformation enhanced EBCGA’s operational capacities, the text’s author argues that its relationship with member states remains largely unchanged. He further stresses that EBCGA’s headquarters should stay in Poland, primarily because relocating it would complicate the agency’s activities.
