This paper assesses the importance of the US elections for Russia and why the Putin regime wanted Donald Trump to be the next US President. The text’s author also discusses the explicit and implicit actions Russia took to promote a Trump victory during the US election campaign, and Moscow’s possible tactics towards the US during the post-election period.
