This brief discusses the key findings and policy recommendations that were drawn from the August 2015 "Missing Peace Practitioners' Workshop" held in Kampala, Uganda. (The workshop examined how to respond to sexual and gender-based violence in conflict zones in Africa.) Some of the workshop’s recommendations include 1) making reporting easier for survivors; 2) prioritizing witness protection and support services; 3) engaging more aggressively with the health sector; 4) harmonizing gender protection laws; and 5) coordinating the activities of specialized units that deal with this issue.
