So, how has the economic integration of South Asia progressed since the establishment of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in December 1985? According to this bulletin, although the SAARC’s evolution has not been “remarkable,” there has been notable movement on a sub-regional level over the last few years, particularly between Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal.
