This publication examines refugee integration in Uganda with a focus on three aspects: access to land, employment and education, and intra- and inter-group relations. The report concludes that refugees in Uganda are far from self-reliant and socially integrated, as 1) the quality and size of the plots of land allocated to refugees is so poor that they cannot earn a living from agricultural production; 2) inadequate infrastructure hinders access to markets and employment opportunities; 3) though most local communities have been welcoming towards refugees, the sentiment has recently shifted in some areas, and more.
