In the wake of the informal September 2016 meeting of 27 EU heads of state in Bratislava, this bulletin takes a closer look at the actions that were taken, including the creation of 1) a fully operational European Border and Coast Guard; 2) a new regulatory Entry-Exit System; and 3) a European Travel Information and Authorization System. The meeting’s attendees also agreed to strengthen the exchange of intelligence data between security services and expand their efforts to prevent radicalization.
