This report explores peace talks and developments in northern Uganda in 2008. It discusses attempts in April and May 2008 to sign a final peace agreement between the government of Uganda (GOU) and the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). The authors argue that these peace efforts have underscored mediation efforts by African institutions and neighbouring countries. They show the regionalization of the conflict highlights a need for regional and internationally coordinated strategies to secure peace in the region.
