This report examines the crisis in western Sahara, following Spain's withdrawal in 1976 and subsequent territorial claims made by Morocco and Mauritania. It explores the major events contributing to the regional and territorial crisis, highlighting three main themes: the root causes of the conflict, the impact of cease fire agreements, and steps taken to settle territorial disputes. The two authors provide their view on these themes and discuss the crisis from a Moroccan and Polisario perspective.
