This paper provides a US perspective on US and Russian nonstrategic nuclear weapons reductions, and discusses a number of policy options that might be explored by the US Congress and Russia to address this issue. The author briefly discusses the historical background of nonstrategic and strategic weapons deployments and reductions by both nations, and then outlines the measures that the two sides have taken to reduce and contain their forces.
