This report examines China’s reaction to the 2005 Indo-US nuclear pact. It argues that China voiced moderate concerns, but may also have found tacit support for some of the pact’s civil nuclear components. The author notes that the American nuclear deal with a non-NPT signatory state allows China to press the US to expand similar ties with it.
