This report reviews North Korea’s ballistic missile program and its implications for US policy. The author introduces the Taepo Dong missile program - tracing developments from the 1980s to testing in 2007 - and explores potential missile configurations and ranges. He also explores North Korea's military expenditure, the development of medium- and intermediate-range missiles - both sea and land based -and the security implications of such missile developments for the US.
