This study is based on a CSVR project called 'The Voices of Young Offenders,' which involved 24 offenders incarcerated at Leeuwkop prison in South Africa. The first part contextualizes the problem of youth offending in South Africa and outlines the information about the project and the methodology used in the interventions. The second part discusses some of basic premises on which the program objectives are based on. The third part concludes by outlining lessons learned and highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the model as well as some recommendations for future work with young prisoners.
