This publication argues that the costly war between Ethiopia and Eritrea, which was brought to an end by the Algiers Peace Accord, could re-ignite unless there is diplomatic intervention by the international community. The article provides an overview of Ethiopian-Eritrean relations before and after the signing of the Accord, focusing primarily on issues surrounding border demarcation and the symbolism of a particular village, Badme.
