This paper offers a critical discussion of current protection and prevention efforts within the Comprehensive Strategy on Combating Sexual Violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The empirical scope is narrowed down to the most affected region: North Kivu. The author concludes with a set of recommendations, including the establishment of a policy academy and anti sexual violence units through UNPOL staff, stronger support for awareness campaigns and social network structures, and the development of a national action plan.
