This paper assesses the contribution that economics can make to analyzing climate policy in the context of uncertainty. The author argues that uncertainties need to be taken into account in the analysis of climate change in order to receive meaningful policy recommendations and that for that matter economics has provided formal frameworks and techniques. She gives a survey of existing approaches and findings and explains what ecenomics has contributed and can contribute to the debate.
