Publication

This paper comments on the role which nuclear power could play in meeting global energy needs for long-term sustainable development. It describes the steps which should be taken by the nuclear power community so that nuclear power can play an appropriate role. The paper concludes that nuclear power can and will play an increased role, but must strive toward attention to economic, social and safety issues, increased networking for balanced development, and increased public awareness by the industry to explain commitment to nonproliferation.
