This article analyzes the possible positive outcome of the second referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon in Ireland. It examines intra-Irish decision-making, focusing on whether euroscepticism is on an increase in Ireland. The author suggests that European policymakers need to consider lessons they learned from debates prior to the Treaty. He argues for a policy that leaves more room for political participation from the youth, a better campaign from the 'yes' camp, and a new 'story line' from the EU - something that brings together old values and the challenges lying ahead.
