This publication discusses Africa's rise in global power as simultaneous to the decline of western dominance and as a result of globalization. It argues that although Africa will not become a driver of global economic growth, the importance of the region will steadily increase. The author highlights four major trends to support this, including the decline of the US, the economic rise of countries like India and China, and climate change. She also discusses major factors to support the rise of Africa, including a growing population, democratization and increased international trade.
