This issue includes six articles on the Swiss and Finnish armed forces, military strategy and strategic planning. The first article examines an instrument of strategic management in the Swiss armed forces. The second article evaluates the concept of asymmetric strategy. The third article deals with managing the risks of weapons of mass destruction within the Swiss army. The fourth article asks whether Switzerland needs armed forces. The fifth article looks at transformation in the Finnish defense forces. Finally, the sixth article examines the Lebanon war of 2006 from a military strategic perspective.
