This article explains the causes as well as the internal and external consequences of the government crisis in the Czech Republic. The author argues that the recall of the Czech government at the half way mark of that country's EU presidency will not affect its ability to carry out tasks of a technical and organizational nature, but will weaken the Czech Republic's ability to influence the developments in the EU.
