This article discusses the potential impact of political developments in the Middle East on the assessment of Poland's presidency of the EU Council, slated for the latter half of 2011. The author argues that Poland should accord special attention to the problems of the region, specifically the conflict around Iran's nuclear program and the Arab-Israeli conflict, during its preparations for the presidency.
