This paper focuses on the African Diaspora in Germany, in particular North Rhine-Westphalia. The paper examines the growing importance of Diaspora populations, both in their countries of origin and in their adoptive homes, through an analysis of existing literature, statistical data and online resources. The author asserts that Diaspora can be relatively important in the final phases of a conflict as well as in the post-conflict reconstruction phase. The African Diaspora in Germany, however, is not coordinated in its actions and tends to have a minimal impact on conflicts in their country of origin.
