This paper advances recommendations for an anti-corruption strategy for the South African Police Services (SAPS) Area Johannesburg. It considers both short-to-medium term as well as medium-to-long term initiatives. The author concludes that adopting even a small number of carefully thought out reforms would communicate a strong message that corruption is being taken seriously and build public confidence in the SAPS.
