Aug 2009

This publication examines the EU as a unified foreign policy actor in its Eastern neighborhood. Individual chapters examine the South Caucasus as a point of contest between the EU and Russia, the content and character of Turkish foreign policy, EU-Russia relations and the gas conflict, and the EU-membership ambitions of Ukraine. The publication highlights EU ambitions to become more active in the region and to secure old and new energy transport routes in particular.
