This paper examines the developments in transatlantic relations under US President Obama. The author expects the relations between the US and Europe to improve, while at the same time the Americans hope to see greater European involvement in the solution of international problems. He also stresses that the two partners will have to adopt a new and less impatient policy towards the world's new emerging powers.
