This analysis provides a short survey of the situation of the Roma, the largest ethnic minority in the EU. The author finds that in many EU member states, the Roma have not been sufficiently integrated and examines past initiatives aimed at improving their treatment. She also gives recommendations to civil society, national governments and policymakers on how to better integrate the Roma.
