This issue of Strategic Insights looks at NATO deterrence requirements, burden-sharing and consultations, and arms control and disarmament within the Atlantic alliance. The articles discuss, among others things, deterrence requirements from both German and Lithuanian perspectives; burden-sharing from a Spanish standpoint; the prospects for US-Russia arms control and disarmament under Presidents Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev; and the trajectory of the Strategic Concept review launched at NATO's 60th Anniversary Summit in April 2009.
