This paper analyzes the most popular reservations about NATO's commitment in Afghanistan. The author finds that the reasons for European countries' participation in the war in Afghanistan were sound and legitimate, but that the allies at times lack the necessary commitment to fulfill their mission. He reiterates the importance of stability and peace in Afghanistan for the sake of European security.
