This paper analyzes the Irish vote on the Lisbon Treaty on 2 October 2009. It looks at the ratification process, the mood in Ireland and the possible consequences of the 2008-2009 economic crisis for the referendum. The author also explores five scenarios which may occur following another 'no' vote.
