This conference report examines the security situation in Iraq and compares it to the peak of sectarian violence in 2006 and 2007. The report examines US and Iraqi military cooperation, regional security dynamics, the endurance of Iraqi militias, Arab-Kurdish tensions, national reconciliation progress and US policy. The report also examines the nature of the Iraqi state itself, its governance and military structures and the relationship with the US.
