Although never formalized into a body of the Warsaw Pact, the meetings of the alliance’s deputy foreign ministers proved to be the most frequent and in many ways the most effective East-East coordination forum. Meeting minutes and information reports about the gatherings of the deputy foreign ministers contribute to the better understanding of the structure, mechanism and overall history of foreign policy coordination within the Warsaw Pact. This dossier offers an introductory essay, a document overview and sample documents.
