This paper discusses China's military strategy and the role of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), providing an overview of the strengths of the PLA land, sea and air forces. The author contends that the PLA's ability to support an aggressive strategy is limited and that the course China's military pursues into the 21st century will directly impact its strategic relationship with the US.
