This monograph discusses strategic planning within the US Department of Defense in the post-Cold War era. The authors call for the development of a 'strategic plan' to better the identification and establishment of priorities for US strategic objectives, to improve planning for military capabilities, and to allow for the integration of operations plans and theater strategies.
