This monograph considers how the information age will impact the conduct of warfare. It explains the governing concepts of the industrial age and how they influenced war, and then describes the governing concepts of the information age and suggests ways in which they may affect war. The authors also discuss the steps the US armed forces have taken to position themselves to exploit the dominant military requirements of the information age: speed and precision.
