This monograph looks at the prospects for political stability, democratization and socio-economic development in Haiti in the mid-1990s. The author argues that without a much greater willingness on the part of the US and the international community to stay the course in terms of providing long-term security and socio-economic aid, Haiti is unlikely to make the successful transition to a stable, democratic and economically modernizing nation.
