This publication reviews the year 2006 for Switzerland’s peace and human rights policies. It claims that 2006 was a successful year, citing the example of Swiss contribution towards peace processes in Middle East, Sudan, Uganda and Kosovo. It also describes the creation of the Human Rights Council in Geneva as a success of Switzerland’s diplomacy. The report explains the narrowing process in the Swiss commitments in the areas of peace and human rights. Finally, it analyzes the increase of the internal capacities and expertise of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. This publication is also available in German.
