This publication is a transcript of a statement before the subcommittee on intelligence, information sharing and terrorism risk assessment of the US House of Representatives. The speaker analyzes al-Qaida's current organizational capacity and evaluates its intentions toward the US. She argues that the organization still poses an active and immediate threat to the US and its allies. She also explains that uncertainty about future policy toward Afghanistan and Pakistan and its effect on US security heightens concern.
