The report explains the role of the EU budget and lists the ways in which it can contribute to achieving the climate objectives of the EU. It presents actions which, along with helping to accomplish emission reductions, would greatly foster the creation of green jobs and the development of a knowledge economy. The authors argue that the EU would benefit from these actions, additionally enabling it to keep a leading edge in green technology, which in the future will be in high demand globally.
