This paper assesses the lead-up to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change conference taking place in Copenhagen from 7 to 18 December 2009. It discusses recent developments in climate science, the Bali Roadmap and the EU's position at the conference. It examines UK government priorities, as well as those of the US, India and China. The authors then outline the main issues to be discussed at the conference as well as the prospect of success.
