This INSS Strategic Assessment considers issues pertaining to Israel's relations with Lebanon, Palestine and India. Topics include dilemmas that arose in Israel in the process of defining the enemy in the Second Lebanon War; the possibility of peace between Israel and Palestinians; the recent developments in Israeli arms sales to India; and the sixth Fatah Convention. It also examines the possibilities and implications of a compromise between the US and Iran that would allow for and bestow legitimacy on an Iranian nuclear program; Israel’s presumed nuclear capability; the domestic unrest in Iran that contributed to the summer 2009 demonstrations; and the intelligence dimension of the conflict between Israel and Hizbollah.
