This publication concerns the use of Ocean Iron Fertilization (OIF) in the context of carbon trading to limit climate change. The authors address the question of how many carbon credits could be generated by OIF and used for compliance if OIF became a mitigation option in the future. The paper covers the role of carbon storage in mitigating climate change, the assignment of carbon credits and carbon accounting methodology.
