This paper examines the evolution of the Combined Approach Matrix (CAM) from two-dimensional to three-dimensional through the addition of an equity dimension. The 3D CAM has been designed to identify, explore and analyze a large number of factors and their interactions across three different dimensions in order to maximize the chance that the health priorities eventually selected are those which will contribute most effectively to equity in health.
