This publication presents the results of a survey on research priorities as perceived by more than 500 stakeholders working in the field in low- and middle-income countries. The respondents' priorities reveal that many unanswered questions impede progress in the fields of sexual and reproductive health (SRH). There needs to be greater emphasis on social science research and program development to better understand the determinants of SRH and how to use this information to design appropriate and accessible services.
