This article discusses the official results of the first round of Ukraine's presidential election. It contends that Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko shows increased chances of defeating Viktor Yanukovych, the leader of the Party of Regions, in the second round on 7 February, 2010. However, the odds by a slight margin are still in favor of the head of the opposition.
