In September 2005, heads of UN member states met for the World Summit at UN Headquarters in New York to discuss strengthening the United Nations through institutional reform. Since the World Summit, UN member states have worked toward implementing these reforms with varied degrees of success. This report also examines US congressional actions related to UN reform, as well as future policy considerations.
