This journal issue examines Israel's "Operation Cast Lead" in Gaza. It discusses civil-military processes, the diplomatic dimension, civilian aspects, relevant international law, the political dimensions of the operation and public opinion. Further articles analyze the Palestinian side, the role of Fatah, Hamas, Hisbollah and local terrorist organizations. The authors also look at regional implications of the operation, more specifically on Egypt's position.
