This toolkit is designed to help peacebuilding practitioners integrate gender perspectives into their conflict analyses. It is made up of 6 sections which breakdown as follows. Section 1 highlights the fundamental points which peacebuilders should keep in mind when including gender perspectives in their analyses. Section 2 provides general guidance on how to include “gender” in conflict research, including what practioners need to do before they go out into specific communities. Sections 3 and 4 set out how practioners should go about addressing fundamental research questions, ideally by performing participatory analyses with conflict-affected groups. Section 5 considers how practitioners might use the findings of their analyses to begin adapting existing initiatives and designing new peacebuilding responses in cooperation with those impacted by violence. Finally, Section 6 provides analytical tools to deal with struggles that specifically revolve around controlling land and natural resources.
